When you send an article for translation, you are sending the article text along with other HTML information, including the URLs for hyperlinked text. But if your article is linking to articles in the same language, won't that mean that once translated into different languages, all the hyperlinks point to that original language version?

By default, we won't change the URL of the hyperlink, merely the anchor text. However, we can toggle a feature localizes these URLs during the translation. This ensures that if you are translating an English article into Spanish, for example, any URL looking like https://customer-happiness.unbabel.com/hc/en-us/articles/26778490914455 will be adjusted to https://customer-happiness.unbabel.com/hc/es/articles/26778490914455, ensuring a Spanish reader will open the Spanish version of the linked article 

If enabled, the feature localizes all URLs, even if you don't have a version for that language published/drafted.

The feature only works for articles of the same Zendesk Help Center. If you are linking to a different brand or a different resource, it won't change the URL.

Enabling the feature

The feature can be enabled in the general Unbabel settings inside the KB tool page. To do this:

1 - Click the cogwheel icon in the top right corner of the screen.

2 - Click Settings.

3 -  Find the Translate help center links option and check it.

4 - Update your settings to save any changes.
