This service consists of adding timestamps to an existing transcription file, or creating subtitles out of a media file and translating them. The output of an order with this service requested can be just the simple srt (subtitles) file, or the media file with subtitles burnt in.
Why should I request Video and audio?
By incorporating subtitles in your video content, be it for the original language in the video or a translated language, you will be able to:
- improve the accessibility of your content
- grow your audience
- improve comprehension and retention of content
- improve search engine optimization (SEO) by increasing the discoverability of videos through keywords and metadata associated with the subtitles.
- comply with legal requirements and industry standards related to accessibility, localization, and copyright
- achieve Professional Quality
What can be done with Video and Audio?
If you request a subtitling service, we are able to:
- provide the transcription of the spoken dialogue
- synchronize text with the audio to ensure accurate timing
- adhere to specific character restrictions through File Engineering
- burn in subtitles into the video file
Supported file formats
The files that allow for requesting the subtitling service are:
- mp4
The service is mandatory for any of these files.
What do I need to provide?
In order to ensure the service is performed correctly, we require high-quality audio/video in MP4 format, with clear and audible content. It is also important that you provide existing guidelines (linguistic resources if applicable, hard or soft subtitles, preferred subtitle formatting). If available, please provide a transcript of audio (time-coded or plain) - if not available, we will include the transcription component.
How to request Subtitling
You can request subtitling in step 4 of project creation.
Click on the slide next to the service name to activate it. Since the service is mandatory, you won't be able to proceed without it selected.
Once the service is selected, you'll see additional options.
If you already have an auxiliary srt or vtt file for the video, please upload it to undergo translation without a transcription step. When one is not available, Unbabel will provide it. Unbabel will deliver translated files that are in sync with the original video.
