The Reports app is the place to be if you are looking to deep-dive into the metrics of any of your active subscriptions in near real-time (as usage can take up to 24 hours to fully update). The Reports app enables you to keep track of your usage and easily access information on how your Unbabel units are being spent, allowing you to break down information concerning costs by different criteria.
To access the Reports page, simply click Reports from the Navigation panel to the left.
Summary
The app opens under the Summary tab. The summary tab will provide an overview of translation activity and usage for a set of predefined and key metrics. By default, the summary tab will display data concerning translations for the last 30 days, based on the number of translated words.
A summary of key metrics such as total of translated words, cost, and average translation speed for the selected period will be displayed. To the right, a trending chart with the same metrics will show. You can change the resolution for the metrics from the default "monthly" to hourly, daily, or weekly, by clicking and picking them from the drop down list.
Below, other key metrics will be displayed according to their respective volumes, cost and average translation speed:
- Type of content: depending on your translated content, you can see chat or ticket messages here, longform content, or blogposts
- Project
- Integration: the Unbabel product in use. Ex: Projects, Zendesk Support, Salesforce Service Cloud, etc.
- Language pair
- Pipeline group
It is possible to change both the base unit for the data to threads or messages, as well as the period of comprised data on display. Simultaneously, you can alternate between showing costs in Unbabel units or currency, by toggling the slider next to the apps icon to the right of the header bar.
Usage details
You will be presented with a summary of your usage by accessing the tab again, with the key metrics being on display.
You will however have the ability to obtain much bigger granularity concerning your usage. In addition to the metrics already mentioned, you can inspect how your usage distributes across individual pipelines and templates. You can check this distribution based off the number of words, messages, or threads, by picking from the respective dropdown.
For more detailed granularity, you can filter and breakdown based off multiple criteria:
- language pair
- pipeline template
- pipeline group
- pricing type
- project
This will restrict the metrics to only usage meeting your search criteria, making it easy to focus on the spending of a particular area or aspect of your operation. Example when searching for only two language pairs:
Cost
So you know about checking your usage per word, message or thread to a great degree of detail. But what about costs? To check how this translates into monetary costs, click on the Cost tab.
You can look into the same metrics present in the Usage tab, but instead of looking into raw numbers for translation usage, these are converted into costs. You can use the slider to alternate between cost in Unbabel units and currency.
Available data
Data is available for the current running subscriptions.
Usage Data Export
In addition to viewing reports and monitoring subscriptions, it's possible to export usage reports for a given subscription by time period and content type.
1 - Click on Export reports in the top right corner of the screen.
2 - Select the date range to export data from and check the content types you want to include.
3 - Optionally, you can choose to narrow down the export to only include projects, by checking the appropriate box seen below.
