The short answer is no.

Once an internal note fires a translation request for an outbound message, it can never fire a second translation, even if you edit it to contain completely different text. We will be posting the translation to the original note.

If you wish to proceed with a different reply, you can just add a second internal note containing #unbabel, $unbabel or %unbabel.
