A translation model is a configuration that determines how Unbabel behaves when detecting the need for a ticket to be translated. They determine when and under which conditions a ticket should trigger Unbabel.
We support three different models:
- On-demand: on-demand is chosen, an agent will need to confirm that the ticket is to be translated by clicking the Translate button on the widget before Unbabel launches.
- Start automatically: Unbabel will trigger and post a translation for any messages whenever an authorized agent who does not speak the identified language views the ticket for the first time.
- Automatic pre-translation: if selected, we will translate all messages in a supported and subscribed language pair before the new ticket is viewed for the first time, bypassing any agent authorization or language settings.
How to select a translation model
Navigate to the Settings Page - only available for Admins - to find the settings that determine which model is on.
Under translation settings, you can find the highlighted checkbox:
- if the box is checked, you are using Start automatically
- if the box is unchecked, you are using On-demand
In the following section, Pretranslate, you can activate pre-translation. Pre-translation "trumps" the other modes when active, and all eligible tickets will be translated as soon as created.
